Frequently Asked Questions
How many CCA sessions are there per week?
We would usually have 2 combined and 1 sectional per week (2 hour+ per session)
Combined are usually on Wednesday and Friday, sectionals will depend on your instructor!
Can I join if I'm inexperienced?
Of course! We welcome any student regardless of their musical background. In fact, we currently have 10+ members who are inexperienced and are learning quick. With the help of our masterful instructors and friendly seniors, you can sure catch up in no time!!
What are the leadership opportunities available?
In NYCO, we have an EXCO team made up of 12 members, consisting of president, vice-president, section leaders, quartermasters and a score librarian. The EXCO members plan multiple CCA events like J1 induction, J2 farewell and our biennial concert. That aside, even without any EXCO position, everyone has an equal say and will have the opportunity to hone their leadership skills in our CCA!
What events does CO take part in?
We partake in school events like Open House, CNY, RemiNYscene and many other events.
We also take part in the biennial SYF concert which we have achieved 'distinction' for consecutive years.
For years without SYF, we will hold a concert with Guzheng!
Additionally, members will also get the chance to take part in our biennial overseas trip where we will exchange with students from countries like China and Taiwan!
